Centre for Corporate Social Responsibility Development begins the process of public discussion of the strategic business role in raising of Ukraine’s competitiveness within the Strategic Initiative “Enterprise 2020: Role of Business in the Society”. General partner of the Initiative – Metinvest.
Initiative 2020 aims to generalize the strategic planning experience of successful companies in Ukraine and develop the national business and society cooperation model, where companies will take into account social and environmental issues in their business strategies. Such model will help to balance the development of Ukrainian business according to need and expectations of the society. Initiative focuses on business-solutions in 7 spheres: demography, environment, health of nation, education, innovations, labor market, infrastructure and regional development.
До ініціативи вже долучилися: Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources of Ukraine, Institute for Demography and Social Researches, State Agency for Investments and National Projects of Ukraine, Global Compact Network Ukraine, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, European Business Association, Ukrainian National Committee of International Chamber of Commerce, USAID, Odessa National Economic University, Metinvest and other organizations.
Igor Kirilyuk, Corporate Communications Director, METINVEST HOLDING, LLC, stated: “Today, Metinvest implements the approach that will lead to positive changes in social sphere and will significantly improve the quality of life of our employees and residents. Within the Initiative, it is planned to conduct the expert and business inquiry, strategic sessions for companies on “Vision 2020”, regional discussions, develop the criteria for enterprise 2020, create working groups in 7 spheres, organize video conferences with enterprises in Poland, Spain, Hungary and present the results at the International conference “Enterprise 2020”.
Today, the inquiry of more than 20 experts is already completed, documents for discussion are developed, where the current state of 7 spheres is formed, also main social and economic risks are determined and business decisions to overcome these risks are proposed.
